Con un percorso che parte dai nostri giorni, arriva ai documenti dei grandi pontefici dell’Ottocento e del Novecento, per poi ritornare all’oggi arricchito di una consapevolezza nuova, il presente scritto desidera soffermarsi sulla storia e il contenuto della nozione di patrimonium philosophicum perenniter validummenzionata nella recente Costituzione Apostolica Veritatis gaudium di papa Francesco. Attraverso un’analisi di carattere storico-filosofica, l’autore intende mostrare in che modo e in quale misura il magistero conciliare e pontificio abbia inteso negli ultimi cento anni il rapporto tra il pensiero filosofico tomistico e il più ampio patrimonio filosofico sul quale fondare la formazione umana e intellettuale di ogni cristiano, in modo particolari dei candidati al sacerdozio.

Abstract

With a path that starts from recent times, reaches the documents of the great popes of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and then returns once again to our days enriched with a new awareness, this work wishes to dwell on the history and content of the notion of patrimonium philosophicum perenniter validum mentioned in Pope Francis’ recent Apostolic Constitution Veritatis gaudium. Through a historical-philosophical analysis, the author intends to show how and to what extent the conciliar and pontifical magisterium has understood in the last hundred years the relationship between Thomistic philosophical thought and the broader philosophical heritage on which to base the human and intellectual formation of every Christian, especially of candidates for the priesthood.
