Em que momento a alma espiritual é infundida no ser em gestação?

Resumo

Com base, principalmente, na Instrução Donum vitae, na Encíclica Evangelium vitae, e na recente Instrução Dignitas Personae, é analisada a posição do Magistério sobre o respeito devido ao ser humano em suas fases iniciais de desenvolvimento no seio materno. São considerados: o reconhecimento do caráter humano do ser recém-gerado, desde o momento da concepção; como também o ensinamento de que o produto da concepção deve receber o tratamento de “pessoa humana” desde o seu início. Finalmente, é focalizada a posição do Magistério relativa ao momento em que se dá a animação: a Igreja acompanha os debates sobre a questão, mas a deixa em aberto. /// Based, principally, on the Instruction Donum Vitae and on the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae, and on the recent Instruction Dignitas Personae the position of the Magisterium regarding the respect due to the human being in its initial phases of development in its mother’s womb is analyzed. Considerations include: the recognition of the humanity of the developing being from the moment of its conception; as well as the teaching that the product of conception should be treated as a “human person” from its beginning. In conclusion, emphasis is given to the position of the Magisterium regarding the moment in which animation occurs: the Church accompanies the discussion of this question, but leaves it open to debate.
