Los apócrifos cristianos, expresión apologético-popular del sentido de la fe, y su papel en la Mariología

Este artículo mira resaltar el papel de los apócrifos cristianos como expresión de la piedad popular y del sentido de la fe de los fieles acerca de María de Nazaret frente a sus opositores. En este sentido, se manifiesta el desarrollo de la devoción mariana en los primeros siglos del Cristianismo, sobre todo a través del análisis del Protoevangelio de Santiago o La Natividad de María y de los diversos apócrifos que tratan de la dormitio de la Virgen. Estas obras influenciaron marcadamente el arte, la liturgia y en la proclamación oficial de los dogmas marianos. /// This article seeks to highlight the role of the Christian apocrypha as an expression of the popular piety and the sense of faith of the faithful regarding Mary of Nazareth in face of its opponents. To this end, the unfolding of Marian devotion during the first centuries of Christianity is shown, especially through analysis of the Protoevangelium of James or The Nativity of Mary and diverse apocryphal writings that deal with the dormitio of the Virgin. These works markedly influenced art, liturgy, and the official proclamation of the Marian dogmas.
