Estatuto da hierarquia e da beleza no “Corpus dionysiacum”

Resumo

O presente artigo tem o objetivo de explorar as concepções sobre o “belo” e a “beleza” presentes na obra do Pseudo-Dionísio. Em seus escritos, a divindade permanece sempre oculta e distanciada das representações sensíveis; permanece misteriosa e impossibilita no homem um tipo de conhecimento direto. A “beleza” das coisas e o “belo” encontram-se intimamente ligados à questão da hierarquia e da ordem, sendo que tão mais bela é uma coisa quanto se aproxime do cume dessa ordem. Assim, ter-se-á em consideração estas linhas gerais de estudo ao mesmo tempo que se tentará expor, de forma simples, os princípios elementares daqueles que parecem ter sido as grandes influências neoplatônicas do autor, como é o caso de Plotino e de Proclo. /// This article aims to explore the conceptions of “beautiful” and “beauty” in the work of Pseudo-Dionysius. In his writings, the divinity always remains hidden and distanced from sensible representations; it remains mysterious and hinders man from a type of direct knowledge. The “beauty” of things and the “beautiful” are intimately connected to the question of hierarchy and order, since a thing is more beautiful to the degree that it approaches the summit of this order. Accordingly, these general lines of study will be taken into consideration while an attempt is made to lay out, in a simple way, the elementary principles of those who appear as the great Neo-Platonic influences of the author, as is the case of Plotinus and Proclus.
