/// Fra Angelico is one of the great painters of the Italian Quattrocento, whose works continue to gain admirers until today. If we analyze his works in depth, we find that they differ considerably from the style of the vast majority of the artists who were the saint’s contemporaries; we could even venture to say that he was an innovator of his time. Why? What inspired him? What is the thought behind his paintings: that of the medieval homo viator or that of Renaissance Humanism? Who inspired him? Who formed him? This article aims to demonstrate that there is a direct relation between the work of Blessed Angelico and Scholasticism; concretely, with the thought of one of its greatest exponents, Saint Thomas Aquinas.Edição
