Desde la prehistoria, la persona humana se ha preguntado sobre su realidad. Fue encontrando respuestas a su pregunta desde las religiones y desde la reflexión. Todavía hoy, con las religiones, los sistemas filosóficos y los avances científicos, seguimos buscando definirnos. El tema es importante porque está en juego la dignidad y el valor del ser humano.
